ABSTRACT
Words are considered to be a mysterious contrivance of communication in our everyday life. Powers of well-chosen words have the ability to inform, influence, educate and entertain others. Words can evoke rich images of inner and outer emotions through different ways of communication. Words are termed to be very powerful as it strikes the world to leaves its imprints worldwide. The power of words in world literature is progressively noticed in the worldwide context. The ingress of readers to an unrivalled scope of work around the globe is excellent in translations. The incendiary growth in the span of cultures studied under the course of world literature has instilled a variety of theoretical attempts to expound and determine the field and to propose efficacious modes of research. World literature today exists by enabling writers in small countries to reach out to readers globally, and help readers around the sphere to obtain a better understanding of the world around them as it has been reflected and refracted in the world’s literatures over the past five millennia. These writers work across genres and set not only the parameters but also all kinds of creative adaptations like novel to film; poem to play; history to musical. They may also cause to instigate typical values from the characters depicted by the writers wherein the audiences get to grips with those opinions. Among those writers who instill minds globally through his powerful words is, Markus Zusak, an Australian writer of German origin, the recipient of The Margaret A. Edwards Award in 2014, who is best known for The Book Thief and The Messenger, the two novels swhich became international bestsellers.
