ABSTRACT

India and China both are the world’s oldest civilizations. Both grew side by side in terms of technology, ancient wisdom and in influencing the world also and even both share large number of population as well. In recent times the Asian dragon have started showing his supremacy on India also, but the importance of India is also felt by China at the same time. There was a time when in modern world after getting freedom from British colonial masters these two neighbours of Asia were at the same position on world map. The Asian lion opted for democracy and become world biggest democratic country whereas China followed the path of communism and slowly converted itself to communist capitalist country. With different ideologies both the countries have progressed respectively. India from the very beginning assured her full support towards Chinese assertion in the World Politics. From her recognition of People Republic of China to the various trade cooperation, Kyoto-protocols, Copenhagen Summits etc., both the countries can be seen to have a common stand and extend their full support to each other. Chindia is a concept used for reflecting the positive relations shared by both the countries. Chindia reflects the idea that both lion and dragon are rising and it is possible that they will cooperate to help each other in many ways. India and China are among the countries having largest population and are also now registering the highest growth rates in the world. The strengths of both the countries are advantageous for each other. China is strong in technology, merchandise goods whereas India is strong on service sector and information technology. If these countries join hands, this would not only be beneficial for these countries but for the World as a whole.
