ABSTRACT
Alpine skiing is a competitive sport in which different competitions are held. There are more than 2000 ski resorts operating in about 67 countries around the world. The purpose of this study was to identify physical and physiological variables which will be helpful in performance enhancement and are helpful for coaches in identifying talented skiers at the earliest as well. The results of our study indicate that physical variables are essential determinants of performance in alpine skiers as compared to physiological variables. Hence, it is the prime duty of coaches to identify talent of skiers based on physical variables such as strength, balance, endurance, agility and flexibility.
