ABSTRACT

Since 1959, along with His holiness Dalai Lama, many other Tibetans escaped from Tibet in the fear of persecution from People’s Liberation Army. From that time many parts of India and Nepal has been occupied by these migrants among which Dharamsala is one of the most sacred and significant place of refugee settlement. Dharamsala is a residence of Tibetan’s guru Dalai Lama and it also serves as headquarter of Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) that controls every movement of Tibetans diaspora. This paper is majorly focused on the diasporic life of Tibetans in exile and their contribution towards the growth of tourism industry in the native places.
