Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Quality of Life among Health Care Professionals: A Cross-Sectional Online Survey

ABSTRACT

Though healthcare workers play a critical role in reducing the harmful health effects of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the pandemic has had a significant influence on their lives and primary functions.[1] This study examined the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life (QoL) of healthcare professionals and its predictive factors. An online sample of 109 healthcare professionals completed questionnaires on demographics and QoL domains in 2020. Majority (42.2%) of samples had positive attitude. Mostly (81.65%) samples have average quality of life whereas 17.43% of samples have good quality of life. Approximately 44% health care professionals had a little difficulty in sleep at night. Majority (42.2%) of healthcare professionals had increased workload. Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that health care professional who has rest time more than 2 days per week reported higher QoL than those who has less than one day per week. Thus the study concluded that health organization and institute should emphasizes on fulfilment of demands and requirements of health care professional in order to improve the quality of services rendered to the people.
