ABSTRACT
The communication revolution that has occurred in India over the last decade is astounding. New communication technologies, referred to as ’Electronic Media’ (EM), such as satellites, radio (FM), television, cell phones (mobile), computers, laptops, and palmtops with internet, are bringing noticeable changes and having a significant impact on socio-cultural understandings, as well as achieving success among urban and rural youth. The study collects data from Julana village in Haryana’s Jind district. 165 respondents were randomly selected between the ages of 17 and 23, were enrolled in a Pre-University Course, a Bachelor’s Course, or a Master’s Course. The paper makes use of primary and secondary sources for data and statistics. The study discusses the surge in cell phone usage. Generation ’Y’, in particular, is mobile savvy. This empirical research shown unequivocally that respondents—youths—are active and dynamic participants in utilising EM for their growth in the modern era.
