ABSTRACT
Alkyl ester-alcohol combinations have a critical role in the design and development of diesel engines, as well as in the study of their interactions. Two-pentanol (2P) and methyl laurate (M.L.) binary mixture densities were measured using an Anton Paar vibrating U-tube densimeter (DSA5000 with Lovis2000 M/ME). Measured densities (Ï) and speed of sounds (u) were used to determine excess molar volumes (V
E) and excess isentropic compressibilities (ð¾
ð‘†ð¸). The Redlich-Kiser equation was used to correlate the measured data of binary mixtures of methyl laurate ( M.L) and 2- Pentanol(2P) across the whole mole fraction range at various temperatures, and the effect of temperature have also been studied.
