Reflecting Marital Discord in Indian English Novel

ABSTRACT

The paper highlights a burning issue of marital discord reflected in several Indian English novels. Various factors which are responsible for the disintegration of the institution of marriage are listed here. A number of examples are cited from many Indian novelists. The objective of this paper is to show how writers after writers have depicted the breakdown of marriages in our society. We should get a lesson and attempt to find a way so that the train of marriage may go smoothly on the rail of life.
