ABSTRACT

With the purpose to provide the financial protection to the elderly population, government of India is expanding its social security system. Various Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension plans are provided by the government and private pension fund managers. Various factors influencing the behavior of investors towards the investment in pension plans. The main purpose of this paper is to find out the difference of factor influencing the salaried class investors towards the selection of pension plans on the basis of demographical variables (gender, age, marital status, nature of employment) to do the investment for the old age security. Percentage, factor analysis, ANOVA and t-test was used to analyses the data. The researcher found that there was significant difference between the demographical factors and the factor influencing the behavior of salaried class investors while they investing their money in pension schemes in almost all cases.
