Political Participation of The Scheduled Caste Women in Relation to Their Educational Level in Chirang District Assam

ABSTRACT
Political participation refers to those activities by which citizen of a country play a active role in the selection of rulers. It includes voting, discussing, attending meetings, seeking information, enrolment in a party, communicating with the representatives, canvassing and registering voters and working in campaigns. Women participation in politics is one of the important issues of discussion in the political area. This paper highlights the political participation of the scheduled caste women in relation to their educational level in Chirang District, Assam. A survey research design followed for this study. A sample of two hundred scheduled caste women was selected using stratified random sampling technique. There are multiple factors are present in our society which affecting them in politics, and one of the strongest factor is education. In this study the output of the data collected from women showed that education level is responsible for the political participation of scheduled caste women in Chirang District, Assam.
