An Analysis of Street Food Vendors Opportunities and Challenges: A Bibliometric Perspective

ABSTRACT
Purpose: In India, Street vendors are the large number of informal enterprises that plays an important role in development of the economy. Vendors are thus not only a significant part of the informal sector but also an integral part of our economy. The aim of this study is therefore to review papers in the field of street food vendors and provide a bibliometric analysis from 2012 to 2022.
Methodology/Approach: This study has used Scopus database; the data is extracted for bibliographic analysis through VOSviewer software and R-studio. The extracted data is analyzed and results are produced.
Results and Conclusion: It includes the information and findings from the top producing nations, journals, sources, authors, institutions, most referenced publications, published authors and three-field plot. The data was considered from the period of 2012-2022. This study has examined 215 research papers on Street food vendors & Hawkers. The parameters used was co-authorship analysis, co-occurrences analysis, co-occurrence of keywords, citation analysis and co-citation analysis etc. The VOSviewer and R-studio software helped to visualize the mapping in this study.
Practice Implications: The study’s significant element is that it gives an overview of the dynamics and trends of informal sector like street food vendors, hawkers which may benefit scholars, practitioners and government in understanding the ecosystem of informal enterprises and the future direction.
