ABSTRACT

This report aims at providing the results of literature review in relation to Training Impact Evaluation to provide a strong research base. This literature review is based on literatures and data available on the subject who represents different viewpoints of various authors regarding the significance of Evaluation of Training to measure the training effectiveness. The review spans the years 1959 to 2021. Much literature is available on training evaluation. Research works has been conducted on the training effectiveness in industries like manufacturing, marketing, banking, telecom, tourism, hospitality, pharmaceutical, corporate employee training, aviation industry, educational institutions but no research study has been done in India for analyzing training effectiveness for a holistic transformational training or attitudes and the behaviour of person. Initial search and survey produced several hundred references. However, the scrutiny of the references exposed few relevant papers. Thus, branching technique was used. The rising cost of training and development by a growing number of companies has prompted inquiries over the rate of return on these expenditures. There is less of a desire to put money out on a limb and more of a need to defend the money spent on training and development. It is crucial in this setting for professionals to pay attention to training and development assessment and effectively show and convey to management that training efforts are making valuable contribution.
