ABSTRACT

Background Adolescence has been recognized as a special period that requires specific attention as it marks the onset of menarche, an important milestone, and hence good hygienic practices during menstruation are crucial to maintain a healthy life. Aims & Objectives This research paper presents a comprehensive study of the “Mahiney ke wo panch Din” campaign, which aimed to empower adolescent girls in Hapur District, Uttar Pradesh, through menstrual hygiene management (MHM) education. The paper explores the project’s objectives, methodology, findings, and the impact of empowering girls with knowledge about MHM. By addressing the challenges faced by adolescent girls, the campaign aimed to improve their overall well-being, break taboos, and promote sustainable practices. The research findings demonstrate the importance of MHM education in empowering girls and highlight the need for continued efforts to create a supportive environment for adolescent girls.
