ABSTRACT
Today globalized world emphasizes the importance of intercultural communication, which requires individuals to possess the necessary skills to effectively interact across cultural borders. This study examined teachers awareness of Byram Model of Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC). The ICC Model outlined by Byram provides a comprehensive framework for the development of these skills. The research design was quantitative and relied primarily on a questionnaire survey to collect the data. The questionnaire covered items related to the different components of Byram ICC Model, including knowledge, attitudes, skills, and critical cultural awareness. Among the sample was a diverse group of teachers from various educational institutions. A descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of Byram ICC model among teachers. The findings indicated that while teachers demonstrated a high level of awareness of the model, there were specific areas within each component where their understanding varied. The findings have implications for teacher training programs and professional development initiatives, highlighting areas where further support and training are needed.
