ABSTRACT

Online shopping in India has increased competition among stores and altered consumer behaviour. The proliferation of online marketplaces has given customers unparalleled access to a wide range of products and services. The rights and interests of online consumers, however, have been called into question by this paradigm shift. Due to these shifting concerns, the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 was passed in India, providing internet users with further protections. In this analysis, we look at how the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 would influence online shopping and consumer protections. To demonstrate the meteoric rise of online buying and the revolutionary effects of new technology on consumer habits, this article examines e-commerce in India. We look at the most important parts of the new Consumer Protection Act of 2019 and how they shield web-based buyers. To emphasise the necessity for thorough and up-to-date consumer protection regulations, this study investigates the rights and obligations of e-commerce platforms, merchants, and consumers. The effects of the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 on internet shoppers faith and commitment are the focus of this research. The Consumer Protection Act of 2019 and its potential effects on businesses and consumers are also explored in the paper. The multifaceted consequences of online shopping on consumers legal rights are discussed in light of the new Consumer Protection Act of 2019. Its a good compromise between shopper safety and growth in e-commerce. As Indias digital marketplace expands, the papers findings and suggestions provide a comprehensive picture of e-consumer safety there and lay the groundwork for a more secure, consumer-centric online retail environment.
