ABSTRACT
Titanium dioxide nanoparticles were synthesized using Peltophaorumpterocarpumleaves extracts via green chemical route. The potential photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticles was evidenced through degradation of alizarin red under sun light at ambient condition. It was observed that the photocatalyst was able to degrade (96.21%) alizarin red dye within 120 minutes. The maximum zone of inhibition against gram positive and gram negative bacterial strain indicates that the green synthesized TiO2 possessing excellent antibacterial activity. DPPH radical scavenging test result indicates that the prepared TiO2 exhibited significant antioxidant activity. Therefore, the prepared TiO2 nanoparticles can be used for photocatalytic, antibacterial, and antioxidant applications.
