ABSTRACT

We introduce a comprehensive framework for analyzing educational institutions in India, focusing on organizational effectiveness, performance, and culture. Due to the complexity of the Indian higher education system, we employ advanced multivariate scaling techniques to distill various effectiveness criteria into dimensions directly related to performance. Collaborating with domain experts, we define customized effectiveness criteria and identify three fundamental value dimensions (control-flexibility, internal-external, means-ends). Our framework categorizes effectiveness criteria into four Models for comparative analysis, providing valuable insights into organizational dynamics and their impact on performance. We apply this framework to map organizational culture in Indias education sector, emphasizing its influence on performance and highlighting their significance in achieving desired outcomes.
