ABSTRACT

Abstract The focus of this study is on how supply chain performance is affected by different supply chain management strategies and by different chain management practices. One hundred and twenty managers from the Malaysian manufacturing sector were surveyed using a questionnaire, which was divided into sections for corporate executive, buying, manufacturing/production, distribution/logistics, SCM, transportation, materials, and operations. The overall response rate was 62%, and of those, 51% were complete and valid surveys. Simple random selection was used to choose the sample. The data was evaluated statistically by computing means, standard deviations, and correlating independent and dependent variables. Multiple regressions, as well as other statistical approaches, were used in the studies. The research result demonstrated a statistically significant connection between supply chain management strategies and supply chain performance. Supply chain management performance is only moderately predictable from supply chain management strategy.
