ABSTRACT

This article makes an effort to bring attention to the negative effects that the rising popularity of internet shopping is having on traditional brick-and-mortar stores. In the same way that a sizable proportion of the population works in retail, an even greater segment of the population is reliant on the services they provide. However, the emergence of online businesses, with their enticing incentives and extensive product selections, has smacked the dread of uncertainty and impotence in their faces. This research delves at how traditional retailers are faring in the face of the rise of online shopping, as well as the strategies those stores are employing to recover and compete. This article also delves at how the rising popularity of online shopping has affected the bottom lines of various businesses. While the research is only conducted sometimes, every effort has been made to shed light on the situation and offer practical solutions.
