ABSTRACT

The numerous investment goals and mandates that exist have made it possible to categorise and sub-classify the schemes in the appropriate manner. The asset class levels are suitable for doing the wide categorization. Therefore, there are Equity Funds, Bond Funds, Liquid Funds, Balanced Funds, and Gilt Funds, as well as other types of mutual funds. These can then be broken down even further into a variety of subcategories, such as mid-cap funds, small-cap funds, sector funds, index funds, and so on.
