Revocation of Article 370: Reaction of Permanent-5

ABSTRACT

Revocation of Article 370 by Government of India put the world into a state of surprise. This revocation was not only unpredictable for Indian people but also for the world. It set the alarm bells ringing in the diplomatic arena of world. It was a matter of great concern for the world as apart from India, two nuclear weapons state Pakistan and China are not only big countries in the region, but the absence of their cordial relations with India could escalate into nuclear war. Pakistan and China are two countries that have been rancorous towards India since it got independence in 1947. Ethnic and boundary disputes of these countries with India have badly affected the security environment of the region and the world. These two archrival neighbours of India have been engaged in hostile behaviour with India. The Revocation of Article 370 and Article 35A has revived and given a new shape to the existing disputes in the region.
